Some Comments on the Analytic Hierarchy Process [PDF]
Some comments are made on the analytic hierarchy process of Thomas L. Saaty, which has gained widespread acceptance as a valuable tool for multicriteria decision-making. Saaty's validation of the method against physical laws is criticized, a multiplicative scale is suggested for making judgements, and the problem of rank reversal is discussed with ...

Extending the applicability of the analytic hierarchy process
Socio-Economic Planning Sciences, 1997The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) has often been used to support decisions that only have to be made once. in this study, we explore whether the AHP can be applied to repetitive decision-making. We suggest a variant of the process to elicit implicit decision models that evaluate alternatives not incorporated in the models construction.

Axiomatization of the Analytic Hierarchy Process
1985This paper contains a first attempt to axiomatize the Analytic Hierarchy Process. The set of axioms corresponding to hierarchic structures are a special case of axioms dealing with the general case of systems with feedback which are under study. The axioms given here are followed by theorems, several of which have already appeared in the literature.

Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP)
2016Analytical hierarchy process is a method in multi-criteria decision-making field that helps the designer to select proper solution in complex multi-objective problems. The origin of the method goes back to 1970–1980s when Professor Thomas L. Saaty originated and developed this method.

Principles of the Analytic Hierarchy Process
1987Cognitive psychologists have classified thinking into two types. This division has gone by many names. Aristotle referred to it as active versus passive reason [35]; Freud [10] as secondary versus primary process thinking; and Hobbes [14] as thought with or without “designe.” More recently the division has been referred to as directed versus autistic ...
