Understanding the Analytic Hierarchy Process
2016In this chapter, we will explain the fundamentals of the Analytic Hierarchy Process. The reader is referred to the original Saaty (2012)’s discussion of AHP or to Brunnelli (2015)’s for a theoretical introduction to the method. In this book, AHP concepts will be explained from a practical point of view, using examples for greater clarity.

Measuring Business Excellence, 2001
This paper discusses the use of the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) in assigning weights to a group of elements. The weighting of elements has two major functions. First, it is employed to prioritize (rank) elements so that the key elements can be determined. This may for example help to establish the key measures for business performance.

Fundamental of the Analytic Hierarchy Process
Proceedings of the International Symposium on the Analytic Hierarchy Process, 1999The seven pillars of the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) are presented. These include: (1) ratio scales derived from reciprocal paired comparisons; (2) paired comparisons and the psychophysical origin of the fundamental scale used to make the comparisons; (3) conditions for sensitivity of the eigenvector to changes in judgements; (4) homogeneity and ...

The Analytic Hierarchy Process
2008The challenges of evaluation and decision making are encountered in every sphere of life and on a regular basis. The nature of the required decisions, however, may vary between themselves. While some decisions may reflect individual solutions on simple problems, others may indicate collaborative solutions on complex issues.

On the measurement of preferences in the analytic hierarchy process
Journal of Multi‐Criteria Decision Analysis, 1996In this paper we apply multiattribute value theory as a framework for examining the use of pairwise comparisons in the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). On one hand our analysis indicates that pairwise comparisons should be understood in terms of preference differences between pairs of alternatives.
