Two-dimensional analytic signal construction

2016 9th International Congress on Image and Signal Processing, BioMedical Engineering and Informatics (CISP-BMEI), 2016
This paper provides a brief overview of the approaches for two-dimensional analytic signal construction. According to the basis of definition for one-dimensional analytic signal, a set of desirable properties is determined as the guideline to measure a new definition for two-dimensional analytic signal.

Polyspectra of analytic signals

2004 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2004
For complex signals, n-th order moment functions can be defined in 2/sup n/ different ways, depending on the placement of complex conjugates. We demonstrate that, for stationary analytic signals, only a few of these different moments are actually required for a complete n-th order description.

Analytic sampling of bandpass signals

Signal Processing, 1992
Abstract This paper investigates the simultaneous sampling of a bandpass signal and its Hilbert transform. A simultaneous sample of a bandpass signal and its Hilbert transform is equivalent to a complex sample of the analytic signal. Therefore, this type of sampling is called analytic sampling.

On discrete multiresolution analytic signals

Seventh International Symposium on Signal Processing and Its Applications, 2003. Proceedings., 2003
We extend the concepts of discrete analytic functions to multiresolution analytic functions using the spectral representation of wreath product cyclic groups. Phase congruency and local energy used in the identification of features, are extended to apply to the multiresolution case. A key feature of the extension is the low computation cost.

A closer look at analytical signals

Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, 2004
Analytical chemistry will be considered here as the measurement science of chemistry that generates, treats, and evaluates signals which contain information about the composition and structure of samples. Analytical information is always obtained from signals.

Analytic signal generation-tips and traps

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1994
In this correspondence we discuss methods to produce the discrete analytic signal from a discrete real-valued signal. Such an analytic signal is complex and contains only positive frequencies. Its projection onto the real axis is the same as the original signal.

An extrapolation for general analytic signals

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1992
An extrapolation scheme for general analytic signals is presented, which extends a result in bandlimited signal extrapolations suggested by J.L.C. Sanz and T.S. Huang (ibid., vol.ASSP-31, no.6, Dec. 1983). Some properties of this scheme are discussed. >

Identification of analytic signals

Journal of the Franklin Institute, 1983
Abstract This paper is devoted to the identification of analytic signals and to find a solution to the following problem. Given a realization of an analytic signal, it is necessary to find the analytic function by which the signal is described. The proposed approach to this problem is based on relatively simple relationships existing between many ...

Analytical approach to the MR signal

Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, 2005
AbstractIn this work, an analytical evaluation of the MR signal is presented using the principle of reciprocity for any transmit and receive probe(s) with general geometrical structure(s). It is shown that the excitation of the spins cannot be explained using the principle of reciprocity in its standard form due to the asymmetry in the permeability ...
