Analytical calculation of permanent magnet couplings
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1993An analytical method adapted to calculating the forces between permanent magnets is developed, and applied to the torque calculation of synchronous couplings. The method is based on the forces exerted between two elementary barshaped magnets. The curvature effect is taken into account by a corrective coefficient, and the yokes by magnetic images.

Analytical SER Calculation of Spatial Modulation
2008 IEEE 10th International Symposium on Spread Spectrum Techniques and Applications, 2008Spatial modulation (SM) is a multiple antenna trans- mission approach that exploits the location of the transmitting antenna for conveying data information. In SM, only a single transmit antenna transmits at a time while all other antennas remain silent.

Analytical calculation of two-dimensional spectra
Optics Letters, 2015We demonstrate an analytical calculation of two-dimensional (2D) coherent spectra of electronic or vibrational resonances. Starting with the solution to the optical Bloch equations for a two-level system in the 2D time domain, we show that a fully analytical 2D Fourier transform can be performed if the projection-slice and Fourier-shift theorems of ...

On Calculating Analytic Centers
1989Abstract : The analytic center of a polytope can be calculated in polynomial time by Newton's method. This note was motivated by papers of Renegar and Shub(88) and by Ye(89). We apply Smale's(86) estimates at one point for Newton's method to the problem of finding the analytic center of a polytope. The method converges globally in the appropriate norm.

Analytical Calculation Methods
2010Although numerical calculation methods for solving Laplace’s equation have developed remarkably in the past few decades, analytical methods still have significance in obtaining precise values and in easily evaluating parameter dependence, for example.

Analytical Forces for the Optimized Effective Potential Calculations
Journal of Chemical Theory and Computation, 2023The optimized effective potential (OEP) equation is an ill-conditioned linear system when using finite basis sets. Without any special treatment, the obtained exchange-correlation (XC) potential may have unphysical oscillations. One way to alleviate this problem is to regularize the solutions; however, a regularized XC potential is not the exact ...

Calculation of the OTF: Analytical Methods
2017The specific calculation required for the analytical determination of the OTF depends on a number of factors. First, the choice depends on whether the calculation is (1) a purely theoretical one for a hypothetical optical system having a given kind and amount of aberration, (2) an anticipated evaluation from system design data for optics in the design ...

Directed waves in random media: An analytical calculation
Physical Review E, 1994The propagation of directed scalar waves in D+1 dimensions in a strongly disordered medium is studied. We use the model first proposed by Saul, Kardar, and Read [Phys. Rev. A 45, 8859 (1992)], where unitarity is guaranteed in each step. The beam positions 〈${\mathbf{x}}^{2}$\ifmmode\bar\else\textasciimacron\fi{}〉 and 〈x${\mathrm{\ifmmode\bar\else ...

Analytical molecular surface calculation
Journal of Applied Crystallography, 1983A computer algorithm is presented for calculating the part of the van der Waals surface of molecule that is accessible to solvent. The solvent molecule is modeled by a sphere. This sphere is, in effect, rolled over the molecule to generate a smooth outer-surface contour.
