Predicting Collagen Triple Helix Stability through Additive Effects of Terminal Residues and Caps
Collagen model peptides are like a construction set. The stability of collagen triple helices is critically determined by the frame, terminal residues, capping groups, and their charge state. The effects are additive and can be used to predict the melting temperatures of new collagen trimers.

Unspecific Peroxygenases have been the subject of a lot of research in the recent past as they offer opportunities for green hydroxylation reactions using hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) as donor. A striking problem of UPOs is their low stability against their own co‐substrate H2O2.

Structural Influence of Lone Pairs in GeP2N4, a Germanium(II) Nitridophosphate
With the discovery of the first germanium(II) nitridophosphate, GeP2N4, we present a way to use the stereochemical influence of lone pairs to modify crystal structures. This approach could be applied to other literature‐known nitridophosphates by cation exchange, altering the crystal structures and thus further increasing their already widespread ...

Photo-Chemical Applications of Phase-Modulus Interdependencies [PDF]
After an accolade to Joshua Jortner, we trace the influences of his Chemistry background in his Physics writings. On the way, we note the richness of Physics in principles (or large-scale laws) and the fact-orientedness of Chemistry. Next we turn to a recent laser-induced electron-detachment experiment and utilize analytic properties of the ...

Through the interplay of X‐ray spectroscopy and computational analysis, we show that gold +I and +III complexes, despite their physically distinct electronic structures, tend to activate substrates to similar extents. We focus in particular on the role of electron‐sharing covalency of the metal‐ligand bonds and provide an explanation for the often ...

Inspired from biomedical and pharmaceutical research, crosslinked pectin‐based edible composite coatings are developed for the preservation of butter. The developed coatings exhibit crosslinker calcium chloride dependent preservation response on coated butter over the 60 days storage period. Abstract Given the vulnerability of butter to rancidity there

Amphiphilic block copolymers of polyphosphinoboranes, [H2BPPhH]110‐b‐[H2BP(n‐hexyl)H]11, have been prepared by a mechanism‐led strategy of the catalytic reversible chain transfer dehydropolymerization of precursor monomers, H3B ⋅ PRH2 (R=Ph, h‐hexyl). These self‐assemble in THF:hexane solutions to form nanostructured rod‐like micelles, the morphology ...
