This study presents a phosgene‐ and isocyanate‐free route for the synthesis of polyurethanes using (R)‐limonene as a bio‐based starting material. The synthesis of the cyclic limonene‐based carbamate monomer LU is achieved in high yields using dimethyl carbonate as a sustainable, less hazardous phosgene surrogate and is verified by NMR, SC‐XRD, ESI‐MS ...

Efficient Red Light‐Driven Singlet Oxygen Photocatalysis with an Osmium‐Based Coulombic Dyad
Photoactive osmium complexes are widely used sensitizers for the generation of singlet oxygen, because they can be excited directly into their triplet states with low‐energy red light. However, their short‐lived excited states reduce quenching efficiencies and reaction quantum yields significantly.

Photosensitizer Repositioning Affords an Enantiocomplementary Enzyme for [2+2]‐Cycloadditions
The combination of genetic code expansion and directed evolution has recently given rise to enantioselective photoenzymes for [2+2]‐cycloadditions of quinolone and indole derivatives. However, the enzymes reported to date only allow access to one enantiomeric series of the strained cyclobutane products.
