فرایند تحلیل سلسله مراتبی AHP یکی از تکنیک های معتبر و قوی تصمیم گیری چند معیاره می باشد. در این مقاله رویکرد ریاضی به AHP مورد بحث قرار می گیرد. در سال 1997 یک محقق بنام جاناتان بارزیلای مدل AHP را فاقد چارچوب صحیح ریاضی برای تجزیه و تحلیل سلسله مراتبی در تصمیم گیری دانست.
