Analytical modeling of dissipative silencers
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2018This paper applies ideas originally developed in the field of acoustics of multiscale porous media to the analytical modeling of dissipative silencers. Analytical models for the long-wavelength acoustical properties of different types of dissipative silencers, such as pod silencers, lined ducts, splitters, and bar silencers, are introduced in this work.

The large number of available natural fibers emphasizes the use of a reliable, non-costly and easy to use, predictive tool with short computation time. In order to predict the ultimate strengths and Young's moduli of green composites, an analytical model known as the three Stages Homogenization Model (3SHM) is used. The model relies on three main parts:

An analytic software testability model
Proceedings of the 11th Asian Test Symposium, 2002. (ATS '02)., 2003Software testability, which has been discussed in the past decade, has been defined as provisions that can be taken into consideration at the early step of software development. This paper gives software testability, previously defined by Voas, a new model and measurement without performing testing with respect to a particular input distribution.

An Analytical Model of Joint Contact
Journal of Biomechanical Engineering, 1990The stress distribution in the region of contact between a layered elastic sphere and a layered elastic cavity is determined using an analytical model to simulate contact of articulating joints. The purpose is to use the solution to analyze the effects of cartilage thickness and stiffness, bone stiffness and joint curvature on the resulting stress ...

Hybrid Analytical-Statistical Models
2011To carry out new families of hybrid analytical orbit propagator programs a new methodology is presented. These families combine a simplified analytical orbit propagator with statistical time series models. In fact, this approach allows the increase of accuracy without loss of efficiency in the hybrid propagators as well as integrating the effects of ...

Abstract Hare clarifies the relation between value‐words and the imperative mood by showing how, through the combination of non‐evaluative words and the imperative mood, we can establish an artificial terminology that could fulfil the same function as our value‐words do now.

An analytic model for parallel computation
Proceedings of the June 13-16, 1977, national computer conference on - AFIPS '77, 1977A multiprocessor (MP) system is defined to be two or more independent processing units accessing a common memory for instructions and data. The common memory may be divided into independently accessible banks. A parallel program is a program operating on an MP system which makes use of more than one processing unit to achieve its computational goals. An
