The power of microRNA regulation—insights into immunity and metabolism

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
MicroRNAs are emerging as crucial regulators at the intersection of metabolism and immunity. This review examines how miRNAs coordinate glucose and lipid metabolism while simultaneously modulating T‐cell development and immune responses. Moreover, it highlights how cutting‐edge artificial intelligence applications can identify miRNA biomarkers ...

What Ways Can We Use Big Data to Offer More Personalized and Tailored HR Services to our Employees? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Big data analytics—analytic techniques operating on big data—is continuing to disrupt the way decision-making is occurring. Instead of relying on intuition, decisions are made based on statistical analysis, emerging technologies and massive amounts of ...

Analyticity of solutions for quasilinear wave equations and other quasilinear systems [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
We prove the persistence of analyticity for classical solution of the Cauchy problem for quasilinear wave equations with analytic data. Our results show that the analyticity of solutions, stated by the Cauchy-Kowalewski and Ovsiannikov-Nirenberg theorems, lasts till a classical solution exists.

On Analytic Theology

open access: yesScientia et Fides, 2015
My primary aims in this paper are to give an overview of a recent movement which goes by the name of ‘analytic theology’, to locate that movement within the larger context of contemporary philosophy of religion, and to identify some of the weakness or objections that analytic theology will need to address moving forward.

Identification of novel small molecule inhibitors of ETS transcription factors

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
ETS transcription factors play an essential role in tumourigenesis and are indispensable for sprouting angiogenesis, a hallmark of cancer, which fuels tumour expansion and dissemination. Thus, targeting ETS transcription factor function could represent an effective, multifaceted strategy to block tumour growth. The evolutionarily conserved E‐Twenty‐Six

Decompositions of Analytic 1-Manifolds [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
In a previous article, analytic 1-submanifolds had been classified w.r.t. their symmetry under a given regular and separately analytic Lie group action on an analytic manifold. It was shown that such an analytic 1-submanifold is either free or (via the exponential map) analytically diffeomorphic to the unit circle or an interval. In this paper, we show

The Saccharomyces cerevisiae amino acid transporter Lyp1 has a broad substrate spectrum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Yeast Amino acid Transporter family members mediate the import of amino acids, ranging from substrate specialists to generalists. Here, we show that the specialist transporter, Lyp1, has a broader substrate spectrum than previously described, with affinity constants spanning from micromolar to millimolar.
