High-resolution anamorphic SPECT imaging [PDF]
We have developed a gamma-ray imaging system that combines a high-resolution silicon detector with two sets of movable, half-keel-edged copper-tungsten blades configured as crossed slits. These apertures can be positioned independently between the object and detector, producing an anamorphic image in which the axial and transaxial magnifications are ...

Niche sharing reflects a poorly understood biodiversity phenomenon [PDF]
Eucalyptus spp. are susceptible to a large number of foliar pathogens, some of which can cause serious defoliation and die-back. In this study, a single leaf spot on a Eucalyptus leaf collected in Madagascar revealed an unusual association of microfungi ...

Organic intercropping legacy reduces Fusarium pathogens and root rot in subsequent durum wheat
Abstract Intercropping is a sustainable practice becoming increasingly popular in the Canadian Prairies. However, its long‐term impact on diseases in subsequent sole crops is not well understood. We examined root rot and associated fungal communities in durum wheat [Triticum turgidum L. ssp.

Fungal Species of Botryosphaeriaceae Associated With Avocado Dieback in Southern Spain
In southern Spain, water scarcity has favoured avocado diseases, causing branch dieback, mummified fruits and cankers. Between 2019 and 2022, 252 fungi were isolated; the most common were Neofusicoccum spp. and Lasiodiplodia sp. Their pathogenic role was confirmed, with Botryosphaeriaceae identified as the main cause of avocado dieback.
