Parallelisms and Contrasts in the Diverse Ecologies of the Anaplasma phagocytophilum and Borrelia burgdorferi Complexes of Bacteria in the Far Western United States. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Anaplasma phagocytophilum and Borrelia burgdorferi are two tick-borne bacteria that cause disease in people and animals. For each of these bacteria, there is a complex of closely related genospecies and/or strains that are genetically distinct and have ...

Extração de DNA a partir de coágulos sanguíneos bovinos. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011

IgG and IgG2 antibodies from cattle naturally infected with Anaplasma marginale recognize the recombinant vaccine candidate antigens VirB9, VirB10, and elongation factor-Tu. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Anaplasma marginale is an important vector-borne rickettsia of ruminants in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. Immunization with purified outer membranes of this organism induces protection against acute anaplasmosis.

Freeze-drying of Anaplasma marginale.

open access: yesThe Onderstepoort journal of veterinary research, 1982
Heparinized whole blood, heavily parasitized with Anaplasma marginale, was collected from 3 splenectomized oxen. Buffered lactose peptone (BLP) was added to equal volumes as a stabilizer and the mixture lyophilized in 2 ml aliquots after rapid freezing. The dried material was reconstituted with 2 ml sterile water and inoculated without delay.

Comparative genomics of Anaplasma marginale

open access: yes, 2008
Anaplasma marginale is an obligate intraerythrocytic parasite of cattle, causing cyclic anemia, decreased milk and meat production, and occasionally death. Epidemiological persistence requires mechanical or biological transmission. Biological transmission via ixodid ticks is the most significant means of transmission, with Dermacentor andersoni being ...
