A Study of the Photocatalytic Oxidation of Humic Acid on Anatase and Mixed-phase Anatase–Rutile TiO2 Nanoparticles

Water, Air, & Soil Pollution: Focus, 2009
In this study, slurry photocatalytic oxidation process was investigated for natural organic matter removal from aqueous humic acid solutions by using different titanium dioxide (TiO2) under UV-A irradiation. Bench scale experimental studies were conducted at different humic acid concentration at the range of 10–50 mg/L and different pH.

Anatase Coating Improves Implant Osseointegration In Vivo

Journal of Craniofacial Surgery, 2007
Titanium is the gold standard among materials used for prosthetic devices because of its good mechanical and chemical properties. When exposed to oxygen, titanium becomes an oxide that is biocompatible and able to induce osseointegration. There are three allotropic forms of titanium dioxide: brookite, rutile, and anatase.

Photoluminescence of Anatase and Rutile TiO2 Particles

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2006
Nonaqueous reactions between titanium(IV) chloride and alcohols (benzyl alcohol or n-butanol) were used for the synthesis of anatase TiO2 particles, while rutile TiO2 particles were synthesized in aqueous media by acidic hydrolysis of titanium(IV) chloride.

A change in morphology from anatase-TiO2 nanoparticles to anatase-TiO2 nanoflakes via electrospray

Materials Letters, 2012
Abstract The change in morphology from anatase-TiO 2 nanoparticles to anatase-TiO 2 nanoflakes was induced using an electrospray method. The morphological, structural, and chemical properties of all samples were investigated using field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD ...

On stabilization of anatase with the fluoride ion

Russian Journal of Applied Chemistry, 2006
Introduction of fluoride ions into titanium oxo hydroxide causes calcination to result in the anatase modification of titanium dioxide, which is stable up to temperature of no less than 900°C and retains a high specific free surface area on heating.

Oxidation of toluene on rutile and anatase

Theoretical and Experimental Chemistry, 1987
The s~ecific catalytic activity of rutile at a toluene concentration of 0.2 vol. % (3.3" 10 -9 mole/mZsec at 650 K; I.I-I0 -e mole/m2sec at 700 K) was found to be an order higher than the anatase activity. At 430-650 K only complete oxidation occurred on rutile; beginning at ~650 K, benzoic acid was formed, the selectivity with respect to which reached

Optical properties of anatase (TiO2)

Solid State Communications, 1994
Abstract We present a study of optical properties of anatase (TiO 2 ) using temperature and polarization dependent photoluminescence, optical absorption, and reflectance measurements. Anatase crystals, rutile crystals and thin TiO 2 films have been studied in parallel for comparison purposes. Visible luminescence, due to the emission of self-trapped

Hydrothermal synthesis of anatase nanocrystals

International Conference and Seminar of Young Specialists on Micro/Nanotechnologies and Electron Devices, 2012
The hydrothermal synthesis of TiO2 (anatase) nanocrystals has been produced. The conditions of reproducible synthesis of anatase nanocrystals by thermal treatment of water solution of titanium isopropoxide and triethanolamine at T= 80−100°C by 48 h have been found. Phase composition of final product has been verified by TEM and XRD analysis.
