Seljuks who came across Byzantine, Greek, Roman and Armcnian culturcs in Anatolia developed an original, many-sided and rich arclîitectural style of their own which, although mainly influenced by Islamic art and Central Asian tradition, nevcrthcless contains clements of earlier Anatolian civilizations, notably Roman and Byzan tine arts.

In this article, I want to dwell on the reflections of Abbasid stucco work on Anatolian Seljuk Art by way of Iranian Seljuk art. The origin dates back to Abbasid stucco works with stylized plant motifs from gth century Samarra, classified by Herzfeld as Group I and II.
