Anatomically accurate, finite model eye for optical modeling

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 1997
There is a need for a schematic eye that models vision accurately under various conditions such as refractive surgical procedures, contact lens and spectacle wear, and near vision. Here we propose a new model eye close to anatomical, biometric, and optical realities.

Anatomical Accuracy in Medical 3D Modeling

2001
In complex surgery, medical modeling has become an accepted tool for diagnosis, simulation and the planning of surgical interventions [1]. However, the question concerning the accuracy of the model, i.e. the equivalence between the model itself on the one hand and the original anatomical situation on the other hand, remains unanswererd in the current ...

Computerized Anatomical Model Man

1970
Abstract : The Computerized Anatomical Model Man is a detailed representation of the radiation transport properties of the human body. It is to be used for computation of the areal density distribution at specified locations in the body. This information is applicable to dose calculations in natural, weapon, reactor, and other radiation environments ...

Anatomical models for medical images

COMPSAC 79. Proceedings. Computer Software and The IEEE Computer Society's Third International Applications Conference, 1979., 2005
We are working towards a general model of the anatomy seen in medical images that can be used to find the boundaries of organs. We argue that such a model must have four components: - multiple resolution copies of the image (pyrarn ids) ; - geometric shape models for organs; - network-like models of inter-organ relationships; and - a top-down control ...

Modeling anatomical heterogeneity in populations

2011 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2011
Our goal is to model anatomical variability across individuals, which presents substantial challenges in clinical population studies and in building atlases for segmentation. Based on a mixture model for a population, we derive an efficient algorithm that clusters a set of images while co-registering them into a common coordinate frame.

3D printed anatomical medical models

2023
This tutorial serves as an introduction to 3D Printing anatomical models in the medical field. We will review application areas, discuss model types and categories, introduce available resources and show examples. We will introduce the approach to developing your own models from DICOM imaging data, segmentation software and resources and virtual model ...

Musculoskeletal Modelling: relevance of model anatomical consistency

2021
No consensus exists on how to model human articulations within musculoskeletal models (MSKM). We propose to evaluate a joint model based on their anatomical consistency (AC), i.e. by quantifying ligament and cartilage deformation associated to its motion: to be consistent with articular physiology this deformation should be minimum.
