Anatomic variations and stone formation
Current Opinion in Urology, 2018The pathophysiological mechanisms in kidney stone formation are insufficiently understood. In order to achieve a better understanding of the complexity of stone formation, studies evaluating anatomical variations in the renal papillae have been performed. This review intends to illuminate recent findings.

Anatomic Variations of the Frontal Sinus
min - Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery, 2003Minimally invasive approaches are increasing in popularity. We have undertaken an anatomic and radiological study of the frontal sinus that is frequently involved in the supercilliary minicraniotomy used to access the parasellar region. We wanted to evaluate the prevalence and morphological characteristics of the frontal sinus in a certain population ...

Anatomic Variations of the Nasolabial Fold
Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 1992The nasolabial fold varies considerably from person to person. Three main groups may be distinguished: convex, concave, and straight. It is the muscles of smiling that are directly responsible for the shape and depth of the fold, and in their absence of function, as in facial palsy, the nasolabial fold disappears.

Anatomical Variation Of The Sphenomandibular Ligament
Australian Endodontic Journal, 2001ABSTRACTThe sphenomandibular ligament, which is derived from the sheath of Meckel's cartilage, is a fibrous structure that passes between the spine of the sphenoid bone and the lingula of the mandible. Although anatomical texts provide basic descriptions of this structure, there are few published reports of the extent of its variability or its possible

Anatomical variations of the sural nerve
Clinical Anatomy, 2002AbstractAn anatomical study of the formation of the sural nerve (SN) was carried out on 76 Thai cadavers. The results revealed that 67.1% of the SNs were formed by the union of the medial sural cutaneous nerve (MSCN) and the lateral sural cutaneous nerve (LSCN); the MSCN and LSCN are branches of the tibial and the common fibular (peroneal) nerves ...

Pancreatic Development and Anatomical Variation
Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Clinics of North America, 1995The pancreas is formed by the fusion of the ventral and dorsal anlage, and a wide spectrum of anomalies or anatomical variations may appear related to this complicated process of fusion: e.g., agenesis, aplasia of a pancreatic anlage, hypoplasia, annular pancreas, pancreas divisum or nonfusion of the ventral and dorsal duct system, pancreaticobiliary ...

Anatomical Variations of the Cystic Artery
European Journal of Morphology, 2003Thorough knowledge about the origin of the cystic artery is surgically important, especially when intraoperative or post-operative bleeding occurs in the gallbladder fossa. The arterial supply of the gallbladder was studied in 81 livers. The gallbladder was supplied by one cystic artery in 86% and by two arteries in 14% of cases.
