Resilient Level Ancestor, Bottleneck, and Lowest Common Ancestor Queries in Dynamic Trees [PDF]
We study the problem of designing a resilient data structure maintaining a tree under the Faulty-RAM model [Finocchi and Italiano, STOC'04] in which up to delta memory words can be corrupted by an adversary.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Specific features of succession of a share in the right to joint tenancy
The article is focused on clarifying specific features of the succession of a share in the right to joint tenancy, which is done in two stages. First, there is transformation of the legal regime of property – joint tenancy is modified into tenancy in ...

Une frontière ouverte à tous les vents : la construction de l’identité collective de l’île de Kinmen
Kinmen Island, only about 10 kilometres away from mainland China, is located opposite the city of Xiamen, Fujian Province. After retreating from the mainland in 1949, Chiang Kai-shek fled to Taiwan and made this island a military base where the KMT (the ...

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Evaluating evaluation measures [PDF]
This paper presents a thorough examination of the validity of three evaluation measures on parser output. We assess parser performance of an unlexicalised probabilistic parser trained on two German treebanks with different annotation schemes and evaluate

Epigenetic reprogramming of lineage switching in cancer
Cancer cells rarely commit to a single identity. Epigenetic mechanisms and tumor microenvironment cues push epithelial cells toward flexible, hybrid states that can shift into mesenchymal, neuroendocrine, or stem‐like fates, driving metastasis, drug resistance, and tumor heterogeneity. Targeting the epigenetic regulators behind these transitions, using

Encapsulins are protein nanocompartments that play an important role in iron storage. In the Myxococcus xanthus encapsulin system, two cargo proteins called EncB and EncC contribute to iron mineralization. Here, we show that EncB and EncC generate iron‐containing minerals with distinct chemical compositions, suggesting that the composition of stored ...
