How Explainable Machine Learning Enhances Intelligence in Explaining Consumer Purchase Behavior: A Random Forest Model with Anchoring Effects

open access: yesSystems, 2023
This study proposes a random forest model to address the limited explanation of consumer purchase behavior in search advertising, considering the influence of anchoring effects on rational consumer behavior. The model comprises two components: prediction

On the effect of anchoring on valuations when the anchor is transparently uninformative [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Economic Science Association, 2020
AbstractWe test whether anchoring affects people’s elicited valuations for a bottle of wine in individual decision-making and in markets. We anchor subjects by asking them if they are willing to sell a bottle of wine for a transparently uninformative random price.

Impact of behavioral biases on investment decision making and mediating effect of risk perception

open access: yesJournal of the Academy of Business and Emerging Markets, 2022
The purpose of the study is to analyze the impact of behavioral biases—anchoring, loss aversion, overconfidence, disposition and regret aversion—on investment decision making, and the mediating role of risk perception between the biases and investment ...

Testing the Reliability of Anchoring Susceptibility Scores

open access: yesEurope's Journal of Psychology
Whereas anchoring is a very robust and well-known effect that refers to the assimilation of numeric estimates toward previously considered numbers, the psychological mechanisms behind it have yet to be fully clarified.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Modeling of weak anisotropic anchoring of nematic liquid crystals in the Landau-de Gennes theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The anisotropic anchoring effect of a treated solid surface on a nematic liquid crystal is described in the Landau-de Gennes theory using a power expansion on the tensor-order parameter and two mutually orthogonal unit vectors.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
