Transition from Herodotus to Plutarchus World: Pathology of Persian Translations of Classical Texts [PDF]

open access: yesپژوهش‌نامۀ انتقادی متون و برنامه‌های علوم انسانی, 2018
In the studies related to Ancient Iran, the lack of data including classical historians’ texts, parchments, inscriptions, as well as thearcheological and literary evidence documents make the historians face problems in analyzing precisely. Translation of

Respiratory‐Limbic Coupling via a Thalamic Circuit Alleviates Anxiety

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study delineates a conserved preBötCGlu→PVT→CeA circuit that gates anxiety and respiration. Activation of this circuit is anxiolytic and respiratory‐stabilizing, while its inhibition has the opposite effect. Mechanistically, PVT exerts its anxiolytic action via a disinhibitory microcircuit: its inputs preferentially target CeL GABAergic neurons ...

The Beginnings of the Roman Provincial Census: A New Declaration from 3 BCE

open access: yesGreek, Roman, and Byzantine Studies, 2015
A papyrus from Theadelphia, now our earliest census declaration from Egypt, supports the view that the 7-year census cycle was first instituted in 11/0, two decades after the establishment of Roman rule.

Pan2‐Pan3 Complex‐Mediated Deadenylation Enforces mRNA Quality Control for Infection of the Rice Blast Fungus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Discovery that deadenylation, rather than transcription, acts as the rate‐limiting step for developmental timing in a plant pathogen. Evidence that P‐body integrity and mRNA decay are mechanistically coupled to rapid cellular differentiation under environmental stress. Identification of Pan2‐Pan3 as a pathogen‐specific “meta‐virulence factor” absent in

Programmable Multifunctional Bistable Structures for Energy Transfer and Dissipation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Utilizing the energy conversion characteristics of asymmetric bistable beams, this study develops a programmable multifunctional system composed of multiple bistable beams for energy transfer and dissipation. The high energy density enables the system to demonstrate potential in transient scenarios such as target delivery and shock absorption ...

MicrobeDiscover: A Knowledge Graph–Enabled AI Framework for Identifying Microbes for Inorganic Nanomaterial Biosynthesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Microbial synthesis of nanomaterials (NMs) is eco‐friendly, but the screening of microorganisms is limited by inefficient traditional methods (currently only involving∽400 microorganisms/90 NMs). We propose AI framework MicrobeDiscover, integrating a knowledge graph of microbe‐NM interactions.

Automatically Defining Protein Words for Diverse Functional Predictions Based on Attention Analysis of a Protein Language Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Understanding protein sequence–function relationships remains challenging due to poorly defined motifs and limited residue‐level annotations. An annotation‐agnostic framework is introduced that segments protein sequences into “protein words” using attention patterns from protein language models.
