Finite element analysis of immature teeth filled with MTA, Biodentine and Bioaggregate

Computer Methods and Programs in Biomedicine, 2020
Finite element based simulation has emerged as a powerful tool to analyse the tooth strength and its fracture characteristics. The aim of this study is to compare and evaluate the fracture resistance of immature teeth reinforcement with MTA, Biodentine and Bioaggregate as an apical plug and backfill material using Finite Element Method.A 3D finite ...

Blackout and other artefacts in computed tomography caused by fillings in teeth

Neuroradiology, 1980
The disturbing artefacts from fillings in teeth were experimentally studied. Pins of amalgam and composite with different diameters were scanned in 10 mm and 5 mm slices. Amalgam gave five different artefacts: (1) blackout, (2) tuning fork artefact, (3) star-burst, (4) collimation artefact in the narrow slice and (5) connecting line artefact.

Cusp movement in molar teeth using dentine adhesives and composite filling materials

Biomaterials, 1987
Forty extracted molar teeth were stored in saline. After MOD cavities were prepared and the dimensions of each cavity recorded, the teeth were restored with either a microfine or hybrid composite in conjunction with a dentine adhesive. Cusp movements were recorded from two linear variable displacement transducers attached to the cusps.
