Objective: To study digital convergence and transmediality in the main newspapers of the Andean Community of Nations (CAN). Theoretical Framework: The analysis of convergence is framed from Salaverría's postulations, and transmediality from Jenkins' theory of the seven principles. Method: The methodology used is mixed.

Balancing bossism: State expansion in the face of elite capture
Abstract Central states have often relied on local elites to implement policies in peripheral areas. These strategies may allow otherwise weak states to impose their directives, but they can also be inefficient, particularly when a single elite commands total control over local politics (monopolist capture).

Abstract On 23 April 2021, the Andean Community, comprised of Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, adopted and published Decision 876 regulating the common nation brand regime for its territory. As a result, this integrated bloc of Latin American countries became a pioneer in this area.
