AI as a Catalyst for Cross‐Disciplinary Breakthroughs in Soil Carbon Sequestration Research

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Soil Science, Volume 76, Issue 4, July–August 2025.
ABSTRACT AI models have been proposed for generating scientific hypotheses; thus, our aim was to test their ability to drive novel research in soil science. We used an AI multiagent platform to generate research ideas for (innovative) practices capable of increasing Mineral‐Associated Organic Carbon (MAOC) in soils. We assigned the AI multiagent system

Phosphate elution from anion‐exchange membranes in soil analysis

open access: yesAgricultural &Environmental Letters, Volume 10, Issue 1, June 2025.
Abstract Resin‐extractable phosphate (PO4‐P) is a widespread sink‐based measure of soil bioavailable phosphorus (P) used in biogeochemistry and soil fertility. However, acid elution of P may hydrolyze organic P and thus compromise measurement of PO4‐P. We evaluated sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) as an alternative to sulfuric acid (H2SO4) for PO4‐P elution.

Adsorption and Desorption of Phosphorus in Andisol at Several Elevation Variations in the Catena of Mount Merbabu and Sindoro [PDF]

open access: yesBIO Web of Conferences
Andisol is a potential soil but has problems related to phosphorus. Amorphous minerals absorb P in Andisol. But in certain conditions, P can be desorbed.

Validation of a small‐scale portable rainfall simulator on the simultaneous transport of sediments and pesticides in agriculture soils

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 6, Page 3250-3262, June 2025.
This study used a small‐scale portable rainfall simulator to investigate runoff rates, sediment yield, and pesticide transport under laboratory and field conditions. The findings provide insights into the environmental risks of widely used pesticides and the mechanisms driving their transport, aiding in developing effective mitigation strategies ...
