Future Perspectives of ERAS: A Narrative Review on the New Applications of an Established Approach
ERAS approach (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery) is a multimodal, perioperative pathway designed to achieve early recovery after surgery. ERAS has shown documented efficacy in elective surgery, and the concept of “multimodal” and “multidisciplinary” approach seems still to be of higher importance than each single item within ERAS protocols.

Nonlinear brain dynamics as macroscopic manifestation of underlying many-body field dynamics [PDF]
Neural activity patterns related to behavior occur at many scales in time and space from the atomic and molecular to the whole brain. Here we explore the feasibility of interpreting neurophysiological data in the context of many-body physics by using tools that physicists have devised to analyze comparable hierarchies in other fields of science.

Objective To assess the cost‐effectiveness and cost‐utility of Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) in patients with failed back surgery syndrome (FBSS) refractory to conventional medical management (CMM). Materials and Methods We conducted an observational, multicenter, longitudinal ambispective study, where patients with predominant leg pain refractory to ...

Epidural Block for Cesarean Section. A Comparative Study between 0.5% Racemic Bupivacaine (S50-R50) and 0.5% Enantiomeric Excess Bupivacaine (S75-R25) Associated with Sufentanil [PDF]
SummaryBackground and objectivesEpidural 0.5% racemic bupivacaine associated with opioids is a technique used in cesarean sections; however, its toxicity has been questioned. 50% Enantiomeric excess bupivacaine has lower cardio- and neurotoxicity.

Anaesthesia and surgical procedures lead to a reduction of intestinal motility, and opioids may produce a postoperative ileus, that might delay postoperative feeding. The aim of this prospective randomised study is to test whether or not different kinds of epidural analgesia (Group A: morphine 0.00 17 mg/kg/h and bupivacaine 0.125% – 0.058 mg/kg/h ...

An adaptive closed-loop ECoG decoder for long-term and stable bimanual control of an exoskeleton by a tetraplegic [PDF]
Brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) still face many challenges to step out of laboratories to be used in real-life applications. A key one persists in the high performance control of diverse effectors for complex tasks, using chronic and safe recorders. This control must be robust over time and of high decoding performance without continuous recalibration
