Ovarian Function Restoration with Biomimetic Scaffold Incorporating Angiogenic Molecules and Antioxidant in Chemotherapy‐Induced Perimenopausal Model

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study developed a biomimetic scaffold incorporating PDRN and melatonin to restore ovarian function in chemotherapy‐induced premature ovarian insufficiency, enhancing cell survival, folliculogenesis, and hormone normalization, while improving fertility rates and offspring in a mouse model, offering a promising strategy for ovarian function ...

Deep sedation in patients undergoing atrioventricular nodal reentry tachycardia ablation

open access: yesResearch in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2013
Background: General anesthesia and deep sedation can be used during cardiac EPS to relief pain and provide comfort and immobility, but many electrophysiologists avoid sedation for better arrhythmia induction. Objective: To determine anesthesia effects in

Ischemic Myocardium Targeting Peptide‐Guided Nanobubbles for Multimodal Imaging and Treatment of Coronary Microvascular Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Nanobubbles functionalized with indocyanine green and ischemic myocardium‐targeting peptide effectively target cardiomyocytes and enable the multimodal (fluorescence, ultrasonic, and photoacoustic) imaging of ischemic myocardium in mice with coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD).

Effects of opioid-free total intravenous anesthesia on postoperative nausea and vomiting after treatments of lower extremity wounds: protocol for a randomized double-blind crossover trial

open access: yesPerioperative Medicine, 2023
Background Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) are common after general anesthesia and surgery. This study aims to compare the effects of total intravenous opioid-free anesthesia (OFA) with conventional opioid-based anesthesia (OBA) on PONV in ...

From Molecule to Aggregate: Designing AIE Nanocrystals for Low‐Power Backward Third‐Harmonic Generation Angiography

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An organic BTHG agent called OTBP with prominent crystallinity is developed. The resonant absorption at 433 nm and prominent crystallinity of OTBP enhance its BTHG efficiency when excited by a 1300 nm femtosecond laser. Tuning the size of OTBP nanocrystals based on Mie scattering theory successfully enables them to achieve high‐contrast muti‐organ ...

Retrospective study on patient comfort and post-operative condition associated with intravenous sedation versus general anesthesia for third molar extraction in ambulatory surgery in a state hospital

open access: yesJournal of Oral Medicine and Oral Surgery
Objectives: Third molar extraction requires local or general anesthesia. In public hospitals, general anaesthesia is frequently used to perform the most complex extractions and to accommodate patients' wishes. However, the choice of general anesthesia is

An Adaptive Neuro-fuzzy Strategy in Closed-loop Control of Anesthesia [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
This paper proposes an adaptive neuro-fuzzy framework to improve drug infusion rate in closed-loop control of anesthesia. The proposed controller provides a sub-optimal propofol administration rate as input to reach the desired bispectral index, which is the output of the system, in both induction and maintenance phases.

Cardiac Organoid Model Inspired Micro‐Robot Smart Patch to Treat Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The heart organoid model exhibits the acidic microenvironment characteristic of myocardial infarction, which emerges as a pivotal force propelling the movement of micro‐robots. These micro‐robots, administered through microneedles, can penetrate deep into the tissue, effectively delivering therapeutic payloads to facilitate heart repair.
