Molecular hydrogen protects against sepsis‐induced cardiomyopathy through improving Golgi stress‐mediated autophagy, inflammation and apoptosis

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Background and Purpose Sepsis‐induced cardiomyopathy (SIC) is the primary cause of mortality among people with sepsis. Hydrogen (H2) has a cardioprotective effect in SIC; however, its specific mechanism remains unclear. We thus explored whether 2% H2 treatment mitigates SIC through inhibiting Golgi stress and investigated the specific molecular ...

Comparison of Remimazolam and Propofol for Sedation in Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis With Trial Sequential Analysis

open access: yesDigestive Endoscopy, EarlyView.
This systematic review and meta‐analysis of 5 randomized controlled trials (n = 965) compares the safety profile of remimazolam versus propofol for sedation during ERCP. Remimazolam was associated with a significantly lower incidence of hypoxia, hypotension, and bradycardia.

Knowledge, Attitude and Practice in Anxiety, Pain and Medical Emergency Management: A National Survey on 232 Italian Dental Students

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Dental Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Anxiety, pain and medical emergencies are crucial concepts in the dental field. Dental students need training, but little is known of their competence on these topics. Aim The aim of this study was to assess the current state of Italian dental students' preparation for, attitudes to, and perceptions of medical emergency, anxiety and

Jaw and head movement adjustments during jaw function—Comparisons between and within 13‐year‐olds and adults

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Oral Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract Jaw–head movement coordination develops during adolescence. However, functional adjustments during this period remain poorly understood. This study aimed to characterize jaw and head movement adjustments in early adolescents and compare this to adults. Three‐dimensional optical cameras captured jaw and head movements during maximum jaw opening–

Changes in cortical delta power during chronic invasive epilepsy monitoring

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Cortical delta band (1–4 Hz) activity is considered a biomarker for states of altered consciousness, with increased delta power observed during anesthesia, sleep, coma, and delirium. The current study sought to characterize delta power following electrode implantation with respect to patient demographics and clinical characteristics ...
