The Role of Hybrid Learning in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hybrid learning combines digital learning resources with conventional education approaches to expand educational offerings. While this approach has shown promise in addressing limitations of both online and in‐person instruction, significant challenges remain in ensuring equitable access and sustainable implementation.

A high‐altitude thermal infrared method for estimating moose abundance and demography in Rocky Mountain National Park, USA

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
Resource managers require accurate estimates of large herbivore abundance and demography to maintain ecological integrity. Common methods to count these species, including observations from low altitude helicopter flights, may conflict with other protected area management objectives and struggle to produce precise estimates for more cryptic species. A qualitative case study of health system barriers and facilitators to living donor kidney transplantation in Canada's most populous province

open access: yesWorld Medical &Health Policy, Volume 17, Issue 1, Page 129-148, March 2025.
Abstract Patients with kidney failure need dialysis or a kidney transplant to survive. Living donor kidney transplantation (LDKT) is the best therapeutic option, yet global rates of LDKT have minimally increased, and there are disparities in access. The need for a systems approach to improvement has been highlighted.

Nesting ecology of an ice‐associated seabird, Kittlitz's murrelet, at the northern edge of its range

open access: yesWildlife Society Bulletin, EarlyView.
We studied the Kittlitz's murrelet, an ice‐associated seabird of conservation concern, at the northern edge of its range. Over a 2‐year period, we estimated nest density and success at 2 sites, captured and telemetered nesting murrelets, and tested the use of a thermal camera to improve nest detection.

Characterization of the Rbfox3‐IRES‐iCre knock‐in mouse: Revealing gene recombination activity in neural and non‐neural peripheral tissues

open access: yesFASEB BioAdvances, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2025.
This study developed an Rbfox3‐iCre knock‐in mouse model to explore Cre‐loxP‐based genetic recombination. Gene recombination was observed in the central nervous system and heart during embryonic development and in neurons, but not glial or NeuN‐negative neural cells, in the adult brain.
