Despite a long history in medical and dental application, the molecular mechanism and precise site of action are still arguable for local anesthetics. Their effects are considered to be induced by acting on functional proteins, on membrane lipids, or on ...

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

This systematic review synthesizes prognostic models for survival and recurrence in resected non‐small cell lung cancer. While many models demonstrate moderate to good discrimination, few are externally validated and reporting quality is variable, limiting clinical applicability and highlighting the need for robust, transparent model development ...

Does the blood glucose control have an effect on the success of the painful diabetic neuropathy treatment? [PDF]
Background/Aim. Diabetic neuropathy (DN) is the basic complication of diabetes, associated with impared glucoregulation, metabolic distrurbances, microvascular vessel damage and increased cardiovascular risk. We monitored the impact of glucoregulation on

Impact of Asymptomatic Intracranial Hemorrhage on Outcome After Endovascular Stroke Treatment
ABSTRACT Background Endovascular treatment (EVT) achieves high rates of recanalization in acute large‐vessel occlusion (LVO) stroke, but functional recovery remains heterogeneous. While symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (sICH) has been well studied, the prognostic impact of asymptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (aICH) after EVT is less certain ...

Mechanism of sodium channel block by local anesthetics, antiarrhythmics, and anticonvulsants
Local anesthetics, antiarrhythmics, and anticonvulsants include both charged and electroneutral compounds that block voltage-gated sodium channels. Prior studies have revealed a common drug-binding region within the pore, but details about the binding ...

The 90% minimum effective volume and concentration of lidocaine for ultrasound-guided stellate ganglion blocks in adults: a biased-coin design, up-and-down sequential allocation trial [PDF]
Background As ultrasound imaging technology matured, stellate ganglion blocks (SGBs) have become increasingly precise and safe, and their use in clinical practice has become widespread. However, the 90% minimum effective volume (MEV90) and concentration (

Progress of Drug Controlled Release Systems for Local Anesthesia
Reducing the drug administration times and prolonging the postoperative analgesia duration are important requirements of clinical local anesthesia. However, both local anesthetics currently used in the clinic and potentially new anesthetic drugs such as ...
