Mechanically Tunable Biofabricated Channels Enable Mimicking Arterial Pulsatility and Dynamic Tissue Actuation

open access: yesSmall Science, EarlyView.
A tunable hydrogel is developed to mimic arterial expansion and contraction under pulsatile blood flow, which is an often overlooked natural phenomenon. The approach enables flow‐responsive wall deformation, perivascular tissue actuation, and enhanced molecule penetration.

Laminar Flow Alters EV Composition in HUVECs: A Study of Culture Medium Optimization and Molecular Profiling of Vesicle Cargo

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of the current study. A) Multiple cell culture media are used for HUVEC cultures under both static and flow conditions. Cells are analyzed for morphology, endothelial markers, and gene expression. B) EVs are isolated from static and flow HUVEC cultures, and investigated for particle characterization, transcriptome and proteome ...

Characterizing fetoplacental response to acute maternal hyperoxygenation in suspected coarctation of aorta using fetal cardiac MRI

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To characterize the fetoplacental response to acute maternal hyperoxygenation (AMH) in fetuses with suspected coarctation of the aorta (CoA) using fetal cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Methods Pregnant women carrying a fetus with suspected CoA were recruited prospectively from a tertiary fetal cardiology center as part of ...
