Aneurysmal bone cyst of the temporal bone
Child's Nervous System, 2001Aneurysmal bone cysts are uncommon lesions of the bone, which are benign and non-neoplastic in nature. They are commonly seen in the long bones. Their occurrence in the calvarium is rare. We report the occurrence of an aneurysmal bone cyst in the temporal bone of a young boy, which eroded the posterior part of the orbit to cause proptosis.

Ultrastructure of aneurysmal bone cyst
Cancer, 1977The ultrastructure of 5 cases of primary aneurysmal bone cysts is described. The most frequent cells found are fibroblasts containing varying amounts of glycogen. Primitive mesenchymal cells in different stages of differentiation are seen. The foci of osteoid and bone originate through metaplastic changes of the spindle cell stroma.

Aneurysmal bone cyst of the larynx
American Journal of Otolaryngology, 1986Aneurysmal bone cyst is a rare lesion of the head and neck, and the mandible and maxilla are the most common sites of occurrence. To the authors' knowledge, two cases of aneurysmal bone cyst of the larynx described here are the first to be reported. Although the exact pathogenesis of this lesion is unknown, several theories of its origin are discussed.

Archives of Orthopaedic and Traumatic Surgery, 1986Twenty-three cases of pelvic aneurysmal bone cysts treated at the Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli were reviewed after a mean follow-up of 7 years. Eighteen cysts involved the anterior arch, four extended into the iliac wing and the anterior arch, and one invaded the entire hemipelvis. The acetabulum was involved in 56.5% of the cases.
