Incoherent ensemble dynamics in disordered systems

open access: yes, 2016
We derive a quantum master equation which describes the dynamics of the ensemble-averaged state of homogeneous disorder models at short times, and mediates a transition from coherent superpositions into classical mixtures.

A Porcine Monoclonal Antibody Targeting a Conserved GP4 Epitope Protects against In Vivo Infection via the Induction of Broad‐Spectrum PRRSV Neutralization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study developed mAb‐5F2, a monoclonal antibody targeting conserved GP4 residues (Q48/I50), which blocks the GP4‐CD163 interaction, resulting in a 78–85% reduction in viral entry. Porcineized 5F2‐pFc prevented mortality in infected piglets, reduced pulmonary viral loads, and minimized lesions. This broad‐spectrum antibody platform overcomes vaccine

Transgressions and expressions: Affective facial muscle activity predicts moral judgments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Recent investigations into morality suggest that affective responses may precede moral judgments. The present study investigated, first, whether individuals show specific facial affect in response to moral behaviors and, second, whether the intensity of

Acetylation of the Mitochondrial Chaperone GRP75 Governs ER‐Mitochondrial Calcium Homeostasis and Hepatocyte Insulin Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Overnutrition exacerbates insulin resistance (IR) and is linked to excessive mitochondrial protein acetylation. However, it remains unclear whether and how mitochondrial protein acetylation influences IR. GCN5L1‐dependent downregulation of GRP75 acetylation at K567/612 consequently enhances ER‐mitochondrial calcium flux and induces ER stress.

Conceptualising quality early childhood education: Learning from young children in Brazil and South Africa through creative and play‐based methods

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Early childhood has increasingly been acknowledged as a vital time for all children. Inclusive and quality education is part of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with the further specification that all children have access to quality pre‐primary education.

Valuing Anger [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
It is widely acknowledged that susceptibility to suitable emotional responses is part of what it is to value something. Indeed, the value of at least some things calls for such emotional responses – if we lack them, we don’t respond appropriately to ...

Hypoxia‐Induced PRMT1 Lactylation Drives Vimentin Arginine Asymmetric Dimethylation in Tumor Metastasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hypoxia triggers lactylation of PRMT1 at K134/K145, enhancing its methyltransferase activity to asymmetrically dimethylate vimentin R64. This post‐translational cascade promotes vimentin filament assembly, cytoskeletal remodeling, and tumor metastasis, with PRMT1 inhibition (MS023) reducing metastatic colonization.

Enzalutamide‐Resistant STEAP4+ MyoCAF Secrete Phosphatidylcholine to Foster Progression by Activating Stemness in Hormone‐Sensitive Prostate Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Expanding enzalutamide (ENZ) use in hormone‐sensitive prostate cancer (HSPC) faces resistance. Single‐cell profiling identifies therapy‐resistant STEAP4+ myofibroblastic cancer‐associated fibroblast (SETAP4+ myoCAF). These myoCAFs drive resistance via TFE3‐mediated autophagy and PCYT1A‐led phosphatidylcholine overproduction, creating a phospholipid ...
