Technological Advancements in Carotenoid‐Based Encapsulated Systems: Emerging Trends in Health‐Promoting Benefits and Their Role in Nutrient Delivery

open access: yeseFood, Volume 6, Issue 6, December 2025.
Encapsulation has emerged as a promising strategy to enhance carotenoid stability, bioavailability, and antioxidant capacity. This technique involves enclosing carotenoids within protective materials at the micro or nanoscale, protecting against environmental, processing, and gastrointestinal stresses.

Correction of aggregative thrombocytes activity in patients with unstable angina by THz irradiation of nitrogen oxide occurrence at in vitro conditions

open access: yesRussian Open Medical Journal, 2013
There had been shown a normalizing effect of THz radiation of MEAS (molecular emission and absorption spectrum) of 400 GHz nitrogen oxide occurrence on aggregation parameters of thrombocytes in patients with unstable angina at in vitro conditions.

Clinical Profiles and In‐Hospital Outcomes of Pre‐Existing Versus Newly Diagnosed Atrial Fibrillation in Coronary Care Units: Insights From the MORCOR‐TURK National Registry

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 41, Issue 6, December 2025.
MORCOR‐TURK National Registry Study: In Turkish coronary care units, newly diagnosed atrial fibrillation, compared with pre‐existing AF, is associated with a higher inflammatory burden (CRP 28.4 vs. 12.6 mg/L), elevated NT‐proBNP levels, and approximately double the in‐hospital mortality (12.0% vs. 6.8%).

Antithrombotic Management in Patients With Atrial Fibrillation Following Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: An Updated Clinical Review

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 41, Issue 6, December 2025.
In patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), antithrombotic management becomes complex to balance ischemic and bleeding risks. In this context, the recent clinical evidence indicates the “less is more” concept in antiplatelet therapy and oral anticoagulation (OAC).

Pyoderma Gangrenosum Associated With Major Adverse Cardiovascular Events

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, Volume 4, Issue 5, Page 1146-1149, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) is a neutrophilic dermatosis characterized by the rapid onset of painful ulcers. Previous retrospective population‐based studies have identified a relationship between PG and major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE).

Broad Applications of Distributed Lag Non‐Linear Model in Public Health: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesGeoHealth, Volume 9, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract This study reviews the use of the distributed lag non‐linear model (DLNM) in public health research, focusing on environmental‐exposure, health–outcome relationships, and providing recommendations for future studies. Embase, PubMed, Web of Science, and Scopus databases were searched for literature published from January 2020 to November 2024 ...

Effect of Cardiac Rehabilitation on Cardiovascular Events in Patients With Advanced Chronic Kidney Disease

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, Volume 29, Issue 6, Page 856-865, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Introduction Little is known about the effect of cardiac rehabilitation (CR) on cardiovascular events in patients with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD). Methods We performed a retrospective cohort study in 189 patients with an estimated glomerular filtration rate of less than 30 mL/min/1.73 m2 who were referred to our outpatient CR center.

Evaluation of platelet indices and count in patients with ischemic heart disease compared to normal population

open access: yesMajallah-i Dānishgāh-i ̒Ulūm-i Pizishkī-i Bābul, 2005
Background and Objective: Atherosclerosis and its complications are a major cause of ischemic heart diseases. Platelets play an important role in initiation of atherosclerosis and coronary thrombus formation.

Different Pattern in Circulating MicroRNA‐22‐3p Levels Between Patients With Primary Versus Secondary Sarcopenia

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 24, Issue 12, December 2025.
Serum miR‐22 levels are significantly associated with both primary (age‐related) and secondary (heart failure‐related) sarcopenia and independently predict its presence. Circulating miR‐22 may be a novel, non‐invasive epigenetic biomarker for detecting sarcopenia in aging and heart failure.

Comparative cardiovascular risk of sulfonylureas with low‐ and high‐affinities for cardiac mitochondrial adenosine triphosphate‐sensitive potassium channels versus dipeptidyl peptidase‐4 inhibitors in patients with type 2 diabetes: A cohort study

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 27, Issue 12, Page 7502-7513, December 2025.
Abstract Aims To individually evaluate the cardiovascular safety of low‐ and high‐affinity cardiac mitochondrial ATP‐sensitive potassium (mitoKATP) channel sulfonylureas by comparing each to dipeptidyl peptidase‐4 inhibitors (DPP‐4i), a generally cardiovascular‐neutral comparator, given prior evidence suggesting greater cardiovascular risk with high ...
