Spinal epidural angiolipoma

A 37-year-old female patient was referred to the hospital with pelvic pain and progressive lower limb weakness of 6 months’ duration. This weakness began during the final trimester of her pregnancy and had continued after the birth of her child. There was no associated sphincter disturbance.

Infiltrating spinal angiolipoma

Infiltrating angiolipomas are rarely encountered in the spine. We present a case involving a 71-year-old man with a dorsal epidural angiolipoma at the T5-T7 level. The tumor involved the T5-T6 vertebral bodies and left pedicle. The patient presented with acute paraparesis and MRI showed a homogeneously hyphointense lesion on T1-weighted images.

Spinal intramedullary angiolipoma

We report the case of a young patient with a thoracolumbar (T11-L3) intramedullary angiolipoma. Total removal of the tumor was possible and after operation the patient's neurological condition greatly improved. Only two previous cases of intramedullary angiolipomas have been reported, and in neither could the lesion be wholly removed.
