Ocular Angiostrongyliasis in Semarang, Central Java

A worm removed intact from the anterior chamber of the left eye of a 23-year-old woman from Central Java was identified as a mle Angiostrongylus cantonensis, 11.1 mm in length and 0.24 mm in maximum width. A useful degree of eye function was preserved. Five similar cases have been reported--three from Thailand, two from South Vietnam.

Ocular Angiostrongyliasis in Japan: A Case Report

A small motile worm was found in the posterior pole of the eye of a patient, producing a decrease in visual acuity. The patient had signs of meningitis and had cerebrospinal fluid eosinophilia. His serum was positive for antibodies to Angiostrongylus cantonensis.

Abdominal Angiostrongyliasis: A Presentation of Eosinophilic Granulomatous Colitis

We present a case of a 4-year-old girl with abdominal angiostrongyliasis who presented with persistent fevers, hepatosplenomegaly, acute abdominal pain, and eosinophilia. Computed tomography scan identified thickening of the ascending colon with a narrowed lumen. Endoscopic evaluation revealed ulcerations and erythema in the ascending colon.

Ocular Angiostrongyliasis without Meningitis Symptoms in Okinawa, Japan

A 62-year-old female farmer presented with retinal detachment in her left eye, and an Angiostrongylus cantonensis worm was recovered by vitreous surgery. The case did not show typical clinical symptoms indicating meningitis, although the patient complained of a mild headache, a low-grade fever, and slight ataxia.
