Experimentally Induced Angiostrongylus cantonensis Infection in Dogs
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1970SUMMARY Five dogs were inoculated with 3rd-stage larvae of Angiostrongylus cantonensis. Three days later, the concentration of larvae in the spinal cord was much greater than that in the brain. There were eosinophilic infiltrations in the dural sheaths of the spinal nerve roots.

Angiostrongylus cantonensis and Human angiostrongylosis
2011Angiostrongylus cantonensis was first discovered in rats in Guangzhou (Canton), China in 1935 (Chen 1935). A. cantonensis is a zoonotic pathogen, which causes human angiostrongylosis with the main clinical manifestation of eosinophilic meningitis. The first case of human angiostrongylosis was reported in Taiwan in 1945.
