ESPRIT Angles-of-Arrival Estimation with Missing Sensor Data

2019 27th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO), 2019
This paper describes a procedure for Angles-of-Arrival (AoA) estimation for a uniform linear array (ULA) with missing sensors. The novelty of the approach is that, rather than using AoA estimates obtained from contiguous subarrays, we use estimates for the corresponding signal subspaces.

Positioning Based on 2-D Angle of Arrival Estimation

2011 IEEE 73rd Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring), 2011
We study the problem of determining the position of a node via the exploitation of 2-D angle of arrival estimation (azimuth and elevation), using orthogonal linear arrays. We also consider the presence of hardware impairments that include RF carrier frequency, phase, and DC offsets.

Indoor Angle of Arrival positioning using biased estimation

2009 7th IEEE International Conference on Industrial Informatics, 2009
We consider the problem of estimating the position of an indoor wireless transmitter. Based on Angle of Arrival (AOA) readings from several base stations, a wireless transmitter's position has traditionally been determined using a least-squares approach. In particular, care is taken to ensure that the least-squares estimator is unbiased.

Online angle of arrival estimation in the presence of mutual coupling

2016 IEEE Statistical Signal Processing Workshop (SSP), 2016
A novel algorithm for estimating the Angles of Arrival (AoA) of multiple sources in the presence of mutual coupling is derived. We first formulate an “Equality Constrained Quadratic Optimisation” problem, then derive a suitable MUSIC-like algorithm to solve the aforementioned problem, and thus obtain good estimates of the AoA parameters ...

Enhancement of angle of arrival estimation by sparse deconvolution algorithm

2013 IEEE 24th Annual International Symposium on Personal, Indoor, and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC), 2013
Ray tracing is a technique often used to model indoor and outdoor environments. In order to improve the parameters used in ray tracing, measurements from channel sounding can be employed to test algorithms and build more accurate models of the channel.

Angle of arrival estimation without EVD for coherent sources

2008 International Conference on Telecommunications, 2008
A novel method is introduced in this paper that estimates direction of arrival (DOA) utilizing coherent and noncoherent signals that are impinging on an array of antenna elements in multipath environment. This algorithm presents several advantages over the classical subspace algorithms such as root MUSIC and ESPRIT with forward/backward spatial ...

Refractivity estimations from an angle-of-arrival spectrum

Chinese Physics B, 2011
This paper addresses the probability of atmospheric refractivity estimation by using field measurements at an array of radio receivers in terms of angle-of-arrival spectrum. Angle-of-arrival spectrum information is simulated by the ray optics model and refractivity is expressed in the presence of an ideal tri-linear profile.

Radar Angle-of-Arrival Estimation

2013
The paper focus on interferometer angle error and on the signal processing required for interferometry, but also introduce monopulse angle-of-arrival for comparison. This chapter, derive the basic equations for monopulse angle estimation and discuss the fundamentals of eigen-based superresolution techniques.

Error estimation in angle of arrival in smart antenna

2011 International Conference on Information and Communication Technologies, 2011
Rapidly growing demand in mobile communication system required technology which will provide minimum errors and maximize SNR in a particular angle/direction. Smart antenna has a system for directed a beam towards desired angle/direction and suppress/cancel interference from undesired angle/direction.

Angle of arrival estimation using spectral interferometry

Journal of Luminescence, 2010
We have developed a correlative signal processing concept based on a Mach-Zehnder interferometer and spatial-spectral (S2) materials that enables direct mapping of RF spectral phase as well as power spectral recording. This configuration can be used for precise frequency resolved time delay estimation between signals received by a phased antenna array ...
