MEASUREMENT OF THE NORMAL LUMBOSACRAL ANGLE
American Journal of Roentgenology, 1971Determination of the lumbosacral angle in the upright position was performed on 319 normal males ranging in age from 1758 years, who had lumbosacral spine roentgenograms made as part of a routine preemployment examination. The mean was 41.1°, with a standard deviation of 7.7°.A curve allowing one to state the expected percentile of a specific patient’s ...

Angle amplification for nanoradian measurements
Applied Optics, 2006A method to amplify the rotation angle of a mirror, based on multiple reflections between two quasi-parallel mirrors, is presented. The method allows rotations of fractions of nanoradians to be measured with a simple setup. The working principle, the experimental setup, and the results are presented.

Measuring mislocalization of angle vertices.
Canadian Journal of Experimental Psychology / Revue canadienne de psychologie expérimentaleLocalisation of simple stimuli such as angle vertices may contribute to a plethora of illusory effects. We focus on the Müller-Lyer illusion in an attempt to measure and characterise a more elementary effect that may contribute to the magnitude of said illusion. Perceived location error of angle vertices (a single set of Müller-Lyer fins) and arcs in a

A CLINOMETER FOR MEASURING SMALL ANGLES
Canadian Journal of Research, 1946The paper describes a clinometer for the accurate measurement of angles of elevation or depression up to 5° from the horizontal. The geometrical design permits a theoretical precision of ± 2″ to be attained in this range on a uniformly divided micrometer head without the application of corrections or the use of cams or associated devices.

Measurement of Small Surface Angles
Nature, 1949IT has been established that multiple-beam fringes of equal chromatic order are particularly sensitive for the evaluation of small surface angles. Yet they suffer from a disadvantage in that the angle shown by the fringes depends upon the orientation of the surface relative to the spectrograph slit.

Measure of high contact angles
Soft MatterThe contact size of a non-wetting drop being sensitive to contact angle and gravity, its variation with drop size is an excellent marker of the value of the contact angle.

Angle Measuring Interferometer
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1964A cube-corner angle-measuring interferometer has been developed which reproduces angles up to 30° with a precision of 0.01″. The angular dependence of the interference order rigorously follows a sine law and any angle in the range of the interferometer may be measured with an accuracy which is limited only by the error in the full scale calibration ...
