Measurement of the Angle of Arrival of Microwaves
Proceedings of the IRE, 1946This paper describes a method of measuring the direction from which microwaves arrive at a given receiving site. Data which have been collected on two short optical paths using a wavelength of 3¼ centimeters are presented to illustrate the use of the method.

IT has been suggested by Scott1 that uncoupled F-region Z echoes are due to longitudinally propagated waves reflected from an area near the magnetic zenith.

Robust Navigation Using Angle of Arrival Measurements
ION GNSS+, The International Technical Meeting of the Satellite Division of The Institute of NavigationThe majority of conventional radionavigation systems are based on Time of Arrival (TOA) measurements of RF signals. By far the most common method is pseudoranging, mainly a result of the undisputed success of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) as a ubiquitous technology, especially in aviation.

Radar Angle-of-Arrival Estimation
2013The paper focus on interferometer angle error and on the signal processing required for interferometry, but also introduce monopulse angle-of-arrival for comparison. This chapter, derive the basic equations for monopulse angle estimation and discuss the fundamentals of eigen-based superresolution techniques.

Tropospheric Effects on Angle-of-Arrival
2013In this chapter, we characterize the effects of angle bias due to refraction and angle precision due to turbulence. As a result, angle bias due to refraction can be calibrated and removed, if possible, and any residual error can be quantified in the interferometer angle error budget.
