Electroactive Biodegradable Nerve Conduits Based on Alginate–Gelatine Polymer Matrix Modified With Inorganic Nanoparticles

open access: yesNatural Sciences, Volume 6, Issue 2, April 2026.
The effects of ZnO, fullerene C60 and polyaniline (PANI) nanoparticles in hybrid nerve conduits are explored. The composites show enhanced electrical conductivity, permeability to physiological fluids and mechanical stability. The biocompatibility of composites is confirmed by in vivo and in vitro studies.

Impact of ENSO on Nitrous Oxide Emissions in the Eastern Tropical Pacific

open access: yesGlobal Biogeochemical Cycles, Volume 40, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Nitrous oxide (N2O ${\mathrm{N}}_{2}\mathrm{O}$) is a powerful greenhouse gas, with the ocean contributing ∼4.2 Tg N y−1 to global N2O ${\mathrm{N}}_{2}\mathrm{O}$ emissions. The Eastern Tropical Pacific (ETP) is a hotspot of N2O ${\mathrm{N}}_{2}\mathrm{O}$ emissions due to high N2O ${\mathrm{N}}_{2}\mathrm{O}$ production under low‐oxygen ...

Deep Learning Enabled Beam Tracking for Non-Line of Sight Millimeter Wave Communications

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society, 2021
To solve the complex beam alignment issue in non-line-of-sight (NLOS) millimeter wave communications, this paper presents a deep neural network (DNN) based procedure to predict the angle of arrival (AOA) and angle of departure (AOD) both in terms of ...

2-D angle of arrival estimation using a one-dimensional antenna array [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper, a two-dimensional (2-D) angle of arrival (AOA) estimator is presented for vertically polarised waves in which a one-dimensional (1-D) antenna array is used.

Conjoined Parasitic Twins (Cephalo‐Thoracopagus Parasiticus) in a Free Ranging Northern Bat (Eptesicus nilssonii): A Micro‐CT Anatomic and Genetic Survey

open access: yesAnatomia, Histologia, Embryologia, Volume 55, Issue 2, March 2026.
ABSTRACT The detailed anatomical situation of male stillborn cephalo‐thoracopagus twins in a wild ranging northern bat (Eptesicus nilssonii) is described by means of full body micro‐CT scans in high resolution with three‐dimensional computational reconstruction.

Joint received signal strength, angle-of-arrival, and time-of-flight positioning [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This paper presents a software positioning framework that is able to jointly use measured values of three parameters: the received signal strength, the angle-of-arrival, and the time-of-flight of the wireless signals.
