Adult‐Onset Subacute Sclerosing Panencephalitis Presenting With Subacute Cognitive Deficits

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We describe the case of a 41‐year‐old man diagnosed with adult‐onset subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE). The patient presented with subacute progressive cognitive deficits and a neuropsychological profile indicating predominant frontoparietal dysfunction. MRI showed only mild parietal‐predominant cerebral atrophy.

Investigation of a NACA0012 Finite Wing Aerodynamics at Low Reynold’s Numbers and 0º to 90º Angle of Attack

open access: yesJournal of Aerospace Technology and Management, 2019
The aerodynamic characteristics of a NACA0012 wing geometry at low Reynold’s numbers and angle of attack ranging from 0º to 90º are investigated using numerical simulations and the results are validated by wind tunnel experiments. Further experiments are

Diffusion Spectrum Imaging Maps Early Axonal Loss and a Unique Progressive Signal in Neuronal Intranuclear Inclusion Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To delineate specific in vivo white matter pathology in neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease (NIID) using diffusion spectrum imaging (DSI) and define its clinical relevance. Methods DSI was performed on 42 NIID patients and 38 matched controls.

Modeling and Analysis of Kamikaze UAV Design with 3 Different Wing Configurations

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Sciences and Modelling
Appropriate design parameters need to be determined for unmanned aerial vehicles that can perform kamikaze missions. In this study, a UAV with 3 different wing configurations and a fuselage and tail wings were designed, and the flow around the wing was ...

Research on the characteristics of the leeward vortex flow field on a blunt-headed rotating body at high angles of attack

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2022
Detached eddy simulation was used to numerically compute the leeward vortex flow field on a blunt-headed rotating body. The effects of changes in the angle of attack and flight velocity on the evolutionary law of the counter-rotating vortexes and the ...

Value of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...

Vestibular Patient Journey: Insights From Vestibular Disorders Association (VeDA) Registry

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Vestibular symptoms impose a high burden of disability. Understanding real‐world diagnostic and treatment pathways can identify care gaps and guide interventions. We aimed to characterize symptom profiles, diagnostic trends, provider involvement, and treatment patterns in vestibular disorders.

Normal‐Appearing White Matter Injury Mediates Chronic Deep Venous Hypoxia and Disease Progression in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore how cerebral hypoxia and Normal‐Appearing White Matter (NAWM) integrity affect MS lesion burden and clinical course. Methods Seventy‐nine MS patients, including 13 clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) patients and 66 relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients, and 44 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited from ...

Airfoil Aerodynamics in Proximity to Wavy Ground for a Wide Range of Angles of Attack

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
Wing-in-ground craft often encounter waves when flying over the sea surface, and the ground effect is more complicated than that of flat ground. Therefore, the aerodynamic characteristics of the NACA 4412 airfoil in proximity to wavy ground for a wide ...
