The word angle may conjure up several thoughts—a corner, two rays and a vertex, or a degree measure. But what about the idea of a turn (a rotation around a fixed point) or of the space between two rays, and what exactly is a degree? Many upper-elementary students have such limited notions of angle that they struggle to provide an appropriate ...

Ricochet Behavior on Glass—Critical Ricochet Angles, Ricochet Angles, and Deflection Angles
Journal of Forensic Sciences, 2016AbstractFor shooting scene reconstruction purposes, knowledge about the ricochet behavior of bullets provides valuable information. In this study, the critical ricochet angles of four cartridge types were established on plain float glass. The estimates of the critical ricochet angles varied between cartridge types and were 21.0° for .32 Auto FMJ ...

Narrowband pass filters are generally poor as narrowband angle filters. A tilted narrowband pass filter, however, is an improved narrowband angle filter, but only for rays in one plane of incidence. It is shown that a combination of two tilted narrowband pass filters will select light from all narrow angle patches in an incident cone.

Angle resolved photoemission: Appearance angles
Solid State Communications, 1981Abstract A new technique for obtaining experimental band structures from angle resolved photoemission experiments is suggested. By measuring the “angle of appearance”, the emission angle at which a specific transition can just be observed in emission from a low-index crystal face, as a function of photon energy, the full wave vectors as well as ...

Euler Angles, Bryant Angles and Euler Parameters
2015This chapter deals with the different approaches for describing the rotational coordinates in spatial multibody systems. In this process, Euler angles and Bryant angles are briefly characterized. Particular emphasis is given to Euler parameters, which are utilized to describe the rotational coordinates in the present work.
