Position and angular misalignment analysis for a wirelessly powered stimulator

2013 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest (MTT), 2013
This study investigated the effects in inductive coupling of wireless power due to the contribution of both positional and angular misalignment between the transmitter and implanted stimulator antennas. The implant antenna radius was limited to 1.5 cm for endoscopic implantation while the transmitter coil radius was kept at 21 cm in order to transfer ...

Reentry-vehicle dispersion from entry angular misalignment

4th Atmospheric Flight Mechanics Conference, 1978
Abstract : An approximate solution is obtained for the dispersion of a reentry vehicle caused by an initial angular misalignment between the vehicle axis of symmetry and the velocity vector at entry into the atmosphere. The dispersion depends on the exoatmospheric motion, which determines the precession mode of the lift vector during angle-of-attack ...

Investigation of Static Angular and Axis Misalignment in an AFPM Generator

2019 IEEE Workshop on Electrical Machines Design, Control and Diagnosis (WEMDCD), 2019
This study investigates the effect of the static angular and the static axis misalignment on an axial flux permanent magnet (AFPM) machine using 3D finite element method (FEM). The AFPM machine is a single-stator-single-rotor generator with a coreless, star-connected stator.

Vibration analysis of a flexible rotating disk with angular misalignment

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 2004
Abstract The dynamic characteristics and responses of a flexible rotating disk are analyzed, when the disk has angular misalignment that is defined by the angle between the rotation and symmetry axes. Based on the von Karman strain theory and the Kirchhoff plate theory, three equations of motion are derived for the transverse, radial and tangential ...

Equipment for Static Characterization of Angular Transmission and Misalignments of CPV

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2011
An equipment aims to perform a static angular transmission measurement based on the electroluminescence inverse method is presented. With this machine it is possible to fully characterize the two‐dimensional angular transmittance of a concentration photovoltaic (CPV) module at high resolution, without the need for mechanical module rotation or flashes.

Noise Radiation by Rotating Machine Subject to Angular Misalignment

Building Acoustics, 2007
Rotating machine dysfunction is often caused by shaft misalignment. This defect generates concentrated or distributed loads that produce vibrations and noise. These vibrations depend on the machine itself through the transfer function while the noise is a function of the machine environment.

Skidding analysis of angular contact ball bearing subjected to radial load and angular misalignment

Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology, 2019
Skidding is a phenomenon that frequently occurs in ball–raceway contact areas of bearings and often leads to their early failure. This paper presents a skidding analysis of angular contact ball bearings (ACBBs) subjected to various boundary conditions. A five degrees-offreedom quasi-static model for ACBBs was employed to investigate skidding with ball ...

Misalignment losses in fiber optic joints due to angular misalignment for arbitrary energy distribution

Optical Engineering, 1995
Although several models exist for calculating the loss in a fiber optic butt-joint resulting from angular misalignment between the fiber ends, these models generally assume an even energy distribution both across the face of the emitting fiber and throughout the emission angle.

The influence of angular misalignment on fixed‐portal intensity modulated radiation therapy

Medical Physics, 1997
A method has been developed to estimate potential dose errors due to linear accelerator angular setting misalignments of Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) treatments. A first‐order approximation to the dose error at a point is modeled as the dot product of the dose gradient and the shift vector of the point due to the rotational error.

Empirical Measurements of Antenna Polarization Mismatch and Misalignment Due to Angular Motion

TENCON 2018 - 2018 IEEE Region 10 Conference, 2018
Propagation in maritime environment dynamically change due to the direct impact of ocean wave undulation to the antenna position and orientation. This paper presents an approach in characterizing signal propagation in a maritime environment by replicating ocean wave-induced antenna motions in a semi-anechoic chamber. The proposed setup may also be used
