Engineering Entangled Photons for Transmission in Ring-Core Optical Fibers

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2021
The capacity of optical communication channels can be increased by space division multiplexing in structured optical fibers. Radial core optical fibers allows for the propagation of twisted light–eigenmodes of orbital angular momentum, which have ...

Spin–Orbital-Angular-Momentum Coupled Bose-Einstein Condensates [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2018
We demonstrate coupling between the atomic spin and orbital-angular-momentum (OAM) of the atom's center-of-mass motion in a Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC). The coupling is induced by Raman-dressing lasers with a Laguerre-Gaussian beam, and creates coreless vortices in a $F=1$ $^{87}$Rb spinor BEC.

Experimental demonstration of cylindrical vector spatiotemporal optical vortex

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2021
We experimentally generate cylindrically polarized wavepackets with transverse orbital angular momentum, demonstrating the coexistence of spatiotemporal optical vortex with spatial polarization singularity.

Level Structure of 58Cu Within Modified Surface Delta-Interaction

open access: yesEast European Journal of Physics, 2022
The nuclear shell model with modified surface delta interaction MSDI was used to calculate the values of energy levels of the copper nucleus 58Cu. The neutron and proton in the model space 1p3/2 0f5/2 1p1/2 of the copper nucleus occur outside the closed

Spin–orbital angular momentum coupling in Bose–Einstein condensate and its spin dynamics

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2023
We examine the use of Laguerre–Gaussian (LG) laser beams in the tripod scheme to create the coupling between spin and orbital angular momentum in a Bose–Einstein condensate (BEC) confined by a harmonic trap.

Spin-orbital-angular-momentum-coupled quantum gases

open access: yesAAPPS Bulletin, 2022
AbstractWe briefly review the recent progress of theories and experiments on spin-orbital-angular-momentum (SOAM)-coupled quantum gases. The coupling between the intrinsic degree of freedom of particles and their external orbital motions widely exists in the universe and leads to a broad variety of fundamental phenomena in both classical physics and ...

Structured 3D linear space–time light bullets by nonlocal nanophotonics

open access: yesLight: Science & Applications, 2021
We propose the generation of 3D linear light bullets propagating in free space using a single passive nonlocal optical surface. The nonlocal nanophotonics can generate space–time coupling without any need for bulky pulse-shaping and spatial modulation ...

Spin-orbit interaction of light induced by transverse spin angular momentum engineering

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Harnessing both orbital and spin angular momentum in light fields enables various applications in bio-sensing and nano-photonics. Here, the authors create engineered spin-orbit coupling between orbital angular momentum and transverse spin angular ...
