Orbital angular momentum filter of photon based on spin-orbital angular momentum coupling

Physics Letters A, 2015
Abstract Determination of the orbital angular momentum (OAM) of vortex beams has been hotly discussed. We propose a new type of method to determine the orbital angular momentum of photons, filtering. We present an OAM filter scheme which consists of a cavity with a polarization-based Mach–Zehnder interferometer inside.

Spin and orbital angular momentum coupling

2021
The concepts of spin and orbital angular momentum of light and the phenomena leading to their interaction are reviewed here, with a focus on those aspects that are most relevant for optical communication. I introduce a classification of spin-orbit optical phenomena in two main categories: paraxial and non-paraxial effects. I then describe the theory of

Orbital Angular Momentum in Photon-Phonon Coupling

Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 2016
We present the physical nature of orbital angular momentum (OAM) in photon-phonon coupling. Exploiting the controllable OAM transfer between light and sound, we demonstrate reversible OAM photon-phonon conversion for the first time.

Angular Momentum Coupling

2007
In nuclear physics, as also in atomic and molecular physics, the entities to be described consist of sub-entities with some orbital angular momentum and spin. The angular momentum of the entity is built, then, of the angular momenta of the sub-entities. This building process leads to quantum-mechanical angular momentum coupling.
