Angular Momentum and Coupled States
1992In working with the orbital angular momentum operator: $$L \equiv r \times p,$$ the major difference between classical and quantum mechanics is that whereas classically the vector product of L with itself is zero, i.e.: $$L \times L = 0,$$ in quantum mechanics $$L \times L = i\hbar L,$$ or the commutator: $$\begin{array}{*{20 ...

Explicit formulae of angular momentum coupling coefficients
Computer Physics Communications, 1992Abstract A program has been developed to generate algebraic formulae of the coupling coefficients of angular momenta. The algebraic programming system REDUCE version 3.3 is used for programming. The program consists of several REDUCE prefix operators.

In Chapter 33, we evaluated the matrix elements of a vector-coupled spherical tensor of type in terms of the reduced matrix elements of both and in the appropriate angular momentum—coupled basis,

Angular momentum coupling in simple-fission transition states
The Journal of Physical Chemistry, 1992An efficient means is deduced for calculating RRKM microscopic reaction rates for simple-fission transition states by using a Hamiltonian consisting of the separate Hamiltonians for each moiety (A and B), hard-sphere interactions between A and B, and symmetric tops connected by a light rigid rod; the reaction coordinate is the breaking bond.

Angular momentum coupling in atom-atom collisions
Zeitschrift für Physik D Atoms, Molecules and Clusters, 1986The coupling between the electronic angular momentum and the rotating atom-atom axis in the initial or the final phase of an atom-atom collision is discussed, making use of the concepts of radial and rotational (Coriolis) coupling between different molecular states.

Angular Momentum Coupling in Odd-Odd Nuclei
Physical Review, 1957Some general results are derived for the odd-group model of odd-odd nuclei and used to discuss the validity of the model. (auth)

Angular momentum coupling in triatomic pre-dissociations
Chemical Physics Letters, 2001Abstract A quantum theory on angular momentum coupling in pre-dissociation processes of triatomic molecules is presented. The initially prepared state of an asymmetric top is first resolved into state vectors in the recoil frame by an addition theorem of spherical harmonics. Under the influence of an anisotropic, repulsive potential, the evolution of

Coupling Angular Momentum Vectors and Transformation Theory
1994Abstract The most important of these operators. is usually the Hamiltonian H of the system or at least the principal part of it, the rest perhaps to be treated as a perturbation later. The other operators then have to be chosen to commute with H. The need for the present chapter arises because there are often two or more ways of choosing

Demonstration of angular momentum coupling between rotating systems
American Journal of Physics, 1985A simple arrangement is discussed which demonstrates ‘‘spin–spin’’ and ‘‘spin–orbit’’ coupling between rotating systems both with and without dissipation.

Programs for algebraic calculation of angular momentum coupling
Computer Physics Communications, 1992Abstract Two programs are developed for the purpose of algebraic calculation of angular momentum coupling. The first program algebraically carries out the summation of products of many Clebsch-Gordan coefficients with respect to the magnetic quantum numbers, and the second one the summation of products of many 6-j symbols with respect to the ...
