Acoustic orbital angular momentum Hall effect and realization using a metasurface

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2021
Vortex beams with a twisted wavefront possess both intrinsic and extrinsic orbital angular momenta. Their coupling (viz. orbital-orbital coupling) leads to an orbital angular momentum Hall effect previously found in light, providing applications in light

Experimental demonstration of angular momentum-dependent topological transport using a transmission line network

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
Here, the authors show that a system can exhibit angular momentum-dependent topological properties through angular-momentum-orbital coupling and provide a proof-of-principle experimental demonstration using a transmission line network.

One hundred years of Alfred Landé's g‐factor

open access: yesNatural Sciences, 2021
Prompted by the centenary of Alfred Landé's g‐factor, we reconstruct Landé's path to his discovery of half‐integer angular momentum quantum numbers and of vector coupling of atomic angular momenta—both encapsulated in the g‐factor—as well as point to ...

Chirality selective magnon-phonon hybridization and magnon-induced chiral phonons in a layered zigzag antiferromagnet

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Two-dimensional (2D) magnetic systems possess versatile magnetic order and can host tunable magnons carrying spin angular momenta. Recent advances show angular momentum can also be carried by lattice vibrations in the form of chiral phonons. However, the

Angular-momentum coupled optical waves in chirally-coupled-core fibers

open access: yesOptics Express, 2011
A new type of interaction between optical waves occurs in chirally-coupled-core (CCC) fibers. Instead of linear-translational symmetry of conventional cylindrical fibers, CCC fibers are helical-translation symmetric, and, consequently, interaction between CCC fiber modes involves both spin and orbital angular momentum of the waves.

The Angular Momentum Unloading of the Asymmetric GEO Satellite by Using Electric Propulsion with a Mechanical Arm

open access: yesAerospace
A high-precision attitude control satellite uses an angular momentum exchange device such as a flywheel or a control moment gyro as the actuator for attitude stability control.

Anisotropic Rashba coupling to polar modes in KTaO3

open access: yesJPhys Materials, 2023
Motivated by the discovery of superconductivity in KTaO _3 -based heterostructures, we study a pairing mechanism based on spin-orbit assisted coupling between the conduction electrons and the ferroelectric (FE) modes present in the material.

Organic chiral ferromagnets with strong spin-chiroptical interactions

open access: yesCell Reports Physical Science, 2021
Summary: The coexistence of ferromagnetism and chirality broadens the fundamental physical properties of chiral materials; however, organic chiral materials exhibiting ferromagnetism are still limited.
