Angular Spread Estimation of MIMO Radar Using Transmission Beam Diversity
2018 IEEE International Workshop on Electromagnetics:Applications and Student Innovation Competition (iWEM), 2018For enhancing the performance of the MIMO radar, this paper proposes a method to estimate the angular spread (AS) of targets by using the transmission beam diversity. The computer simulation shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Study of the IACT angular acceptance and Point Spread Function
Astroparticle Physics, 2018Abstract Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescopes (IACT) are designed to detect γ -ray photons in the very-high energy (VHE) band from 50 GeV to more than 10 TeV. The few degree-scale field of view and the good angular resolution γ -ray photons of IACTs using Crab Nebula data collected with the MAGIC stereoscopic system.

Angular spread of the radio wave propagation in foliage environment
2012 6th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EUCAP), 2012In this paper, we have analyzed the effect of the foliage on the radio wave propagation using the space-alternating generalized expectation-maximization (SAGE) algorithm. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the directional characteristics of dispersion caused by trees in the radio channel.

Target-thickness-angular-spread tables for proton and pion beams
Atomic Data and Nuclear Data Tables, 1975Abstract When passing through materials, a parallel beam of charged particles is given an angular divergence by multiple Coulomb scattering processes. Convenient measures of the spreading of the scattered beam are given by the standard-deviation angle, the full-width-half-maximum angle, and the full-width-tenth-maximum angle. These tables present the

Efficient detection with arrays in the presence of angular spreading
IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2003The spatial channel in applications such as radar, sonar, and wireless communications is typically characterized by complex signal scattering leading to multiple signal components arriving at the array from a spread of angles. This multipath angle spread is well known to lead to loss of spatial signal coherence, requiring complicated combining schemes ...

Comparison of MIMO spatial correlation approximations under large angular spread
2008 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2008We propose a new approximate correlation formulation when the AoA distribution is uniform distribution or other uniform-distribution-like AoA scenarios. The approximation can speed up the correlation calculation compared to numerical method and enhance the accuracy compared to the previous works, which is beneficial for the judgement of channel ...

Spatial frequency approximation (SFA) of spatial fading correlation (SFC) is addressed for the case that the exact infinite summation of Bessel functions is inconvenient or infeasible. The angular spread is derived for semicircular scattering, especially characterized by uniform, Gaussian, Laplacian, and von Mises distributions.

The angular spread of fast ions scattered by atomic electrons
Physics Letters A, 1991Abstract The multiple scattering effect due to atomic electrons under channeling conditions in terms of the semiclassical approach is considered. It is shown that the local angular spread vanishes for small impact parameter. The calculations made for the hydrogen-like atom model reveal a strong deviation between the exact results and the results of ...
