ACCOUNTING OF TUNNELING EFFECTS WHEN CALCULATING THE ENERGY SPECTRUM OF THE SCHRÖDINGER EQUATION
The general scheme of the method for integrating second-order differential equations in the form of power series is presented. The obtained results for the Schrödinger equation with potentials with two and three minima for quantum anharmonic oscillators ...

It takes a village to raise a tide: nonlinear multiple-mode coupling and mode identification in KOI-54 [PDF]
We explore the tidal excitation of stellar modes in binary systems using Kepler observations of the remarkable eccentric binary KOI-54 (HD 187091; KIC 8112039), which displays strong ellipsoidal variation as well as a variety of linear and nonlinear ...

Glassy dynamics in strongly anharmonic chains of oscillators [PDF]
We review the mechanism for transport in strongly anharmonic chains of oscillators near the atomic limit where all oscillators are decoupled. In this regime, the motion of most oscillators remains close to integrable, i.e.

Computing with networks of nonlinear mechanical oscillators. [PDF]
As it is getting increasingly difficult to achieve gains in the density and power efficiency of microelectronic computing devices because of lithographic techniques reaching fundamental physical limits, new approaches are required to maximize the ...

Sextic anharmonic oscillators and orthogonal polynomials
Under certain constraints on the parameters a, b and c, it is known that Schroedinger's equation -y"(x)+(ax^6+bx^4+cx^2)y(x) = E y(x), a > 0, with the sextic anharmonic oscillator potential is exactly solvable.

Classical evolution of fractal measures on the lattice [PDF]
We consider the classical evolution of a lattice of non-linear coupled oscillators for a special case of initial conditions resembling the equilibrium state of a macroscopic thermal system at the critical point.

High Entropy Wide‐Bandgap Borates with Broadband Luminescence and Large Nonlinear Optical properties
High‐entropy rare‐earth borates exhibit excellent nonlinear optical and broadband luminescence properties arising from multi‐component doping, chemical disorder, increased configurational entropy, and increased lattice and electronic anharmonicity. This formulation enabled us to obtain a large, environmentally stable single crystal with 3X higher laser‐

Aspects of Discrete Breathers and New Directions
We describe results concerning the existence proofs of Discrete Breathers (DBs) in the two classes of dynamical systems with optical linear phonons and with acoustic linear phonons.

Spectral Tuning of Hyperbolic Shear Polaritons in Monoclinic Gallium Oxide via Isotopic Substitution
Spectral tuning of highly directional hyperbolic shear polaritons is realized via isotopic substitution of 16O to 18O in monoclinic β$\beta$‐phase gallium oxide. A red‐shift of almost 40 cm−1 is experimentally demonstrated with near‐field imaging, corroborated by the permittivity change extracted from far‐field experiments and density functional theory.
