Analysis of pathogenic bacteria using exogenous volatile organic compound metabolites and optical sensor detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A novel, low-cost and simple method for the detection of pathogenic bacteria is proposed. The approach is based on the generation of an exogenous volatile organic compound (VOC) produced by the addition of an enzyme substrate to the bacterial sample. The

Copper Single‐Atom Decorated Microfibrous Catalysts for Continuous‐Flow Reduction of Nitroarenes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Herein, a Cu‐single‐atom decorated, microfibrous catalyst (Cu1/CMF) is fabricated for chemoselective reduction of nitroarenes, demonstrating a superior processing capacity of 1.92 mmol mgcat−1 h−1 and superior durability (≥ 25 cycles) in a continuous‐flow manner.

Impact of Surface Functionalization on NV Quantum Properties: Implications for Biosensing with Fluorescent Nanodiamonds

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fluorescent nanodiamonds (fNDs) have emerged as an invaluable quantum sensing platform for biological and biochemical systems. This paper investigates the influence of common surface functionalization strategies for bioconjugation on the quantum properties of nitrogen vacancy (NV) centers in nanodiamonds.

Quantum Chemical QSPR Study of The Parameters Influences on Viscosity (?) for Some Aniline Derivatives

open access: yesمجلة علوم ذي قار, 2019
Quantitative Structure-Property Relationship (QSPR) analysis to viscosity (?) of 9 aniline derivatives have been conducted. The study was done by using molecular modelling of aniline compounds. The calculation was performed by the DFT method at B3PW91/6-

Conducting polymer wires in mesopore hosts [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Nanometer-size conducting structures are of great interest in view of fundamental issues and potential applications. We explore the inclusion chemistry of conjugated polymers and graphite-like materials as a means to create such structures.

Gold-Catalyzed Synthesis of Aromatic Azo Compounds from Anilines and Nitroaromatics

open access: yesScience, 2008
The selective formation of aromatic azo compounds at preparative or industrial levels requires stoichiometric amounts of environmentally unfriendly transition metals or nitrites. Here, we show that gold nanoparticles supported on titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) and nanoparticulated cerium dioxide (CeO 2

Using the Photostationary State of Arylazopyrazoles to Control Phase Transitions of Liquid Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A series of new arylazopyrazole photoswitches is designed as dopants for liquid crystalline materials. Unprecedented, the distribution of photoisomers at the photostationary state upon irradiation with light of specific wavelengths (365, 460, 520 nm) is used to control the liquid crystalline phase transitions under isothermal conditions, including ...
