Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Importance of animal welfare in bovine production

open access: yes, 2020
Bovine and sheep meat production systems have certain advantages over other more intensive production markets due to the “natural” conditions of production on the prairie and the possibilities of organic production.

MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR ESTIMATION OF THE DIGITALIZATION OF THE PRODUCTION STRUCTURE IN ANIMAL HUSBANDRY [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Papers Series : Management, Economic Engineering in Agriculture and Rural Development, 2022
A mathematical model was tested to assess the digitization of stock farms in various sub-sectors of animal husbandry from the region of southwestern Bulgaria. In the assessment of the farm, only the software and hardware devices used by the persons employed in the respective farm were taken into account.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

The Position Losing of Animal Husbandry in Agriculture

open access: yesApstract: Applied Studies in Agribusiness and Commerce, 2009
The author in the presentation deals with the fact that what caused the decline of animal husbandry in contrast with plant production; how this unfavourable ratio of 60:40 could evolve when comparing plant production and animal husbandry What the reason ...

Identification of TSHB gene expression profile in Duolang sheep and its functional role in granulosa cells

open access: yesBMC Genomics
Objective Thyroid-stimulating hormone beta subunit (TSHB) gene, a member of the glycoprotein hormone beta subunit family, has been detected in ovarian tissues and granulosa cells (GCs) of several species, suggesting a potential involvement in ovarian ...

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Identification of a Shiga toxin A‐derived peptide internalized into Gb3 receptor‐bearing cells via interaction with the Shiga toxin B subunit

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The process of internalization of the Shiga toxin A subunit via formation of a complex with the Shiga toxin B subunit, which specifically binds to the Gb3 receptor. The peptide is designed to act as a carrier of drugs into cancer cells. Here, we explored the potential of peptides derived from the catalytic A subunit of Shiga toxin (STxA) to be drug ...
