Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Carbon Dioxide Production in Animal Houses: A literature review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This article deals with carbon dioxide production from farm animals; more specifically, it addresses the possibilities of using the measured carbon dioxide concentration in animal houses as basis for estimation of ventilation flow (as the ventilation ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

CONSUMPTION OF FISH IN EGYPT [PDF]

open access: yesArab Universities Journal of Agricultural Sciences, 2018
Food is a vital necessity for humans. Providing food in quantity and quality is not only necessary to meet biological needs or to achieve a decent standard of living, it is also an essential step for civilizational leapfrogging. The results indicate that

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Nitrogen efficiency of dairy cattle : from protein evaluation to ammonia emission [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Diet optimization contributes considerably to increased nitrogen efficiency of dairy cattle, resulting in reduced nitrogen losses. This thesis focuses on three themes: the potential advances in protein evaluation systems for ruminants, the relationship ...

Identification of Conserved Cross-Reactive B-Cell Epitopes in CPV1 and CPV2 L1 Proteins with Vaccine Potential

open access: yesVaccines
Background/Objectives: Canine papillomavirus (CPV) is an important viral pathogen associated with papillomatosis in dogs, with canine papillomavirus type 1 (CPV1) and type 2 (CPV2) among the most prevalent and clinically relevant genotypes. The L1 capsid
