Hidden Losses: Assessing the Risk of Coextinction Among Ectoparasitic Flies and Their Bat Host Species in Brazil

The potential impact of bat species extinction on the number of their ectoparasitic fly species, based on interaction data for Brazil. As bat host species are removed over time, more connected species (green) would experience steeper declines and lead to greater ectoparasite losses when compared to a random extinction model (gray).

SPECT es una modalidad no invasiva de diagnóstico por imagen, utilizada en la actualidad con fines clínicos principalmente en oncología, cardiología y neurología. En el Laboratorio de Imagen Médica del Hospital Gregorio Marañón se está desarrollando un sistema denominado FSPECT diseñado para aplicar esta técnica en animales de laboratorio.

Art v 1 and Amb a 4 Co‐Sensitization Identifies Italian Patients at Risk for Mugwort‐Celery‐Spice Syndrome

Three molecular profiles identified among Art v 1/Amb a 4‐sensitized patients: Art v 1 monosensitization, Amb a 4 monosensitization, and dual sensitization to both allergens. Art v 1 monosensitization was predominantly associated with allergic rhinitis, reflecting a classical airborne allergy pattern.

Exhaled Volatile Organic Compounds Identify Allergic Patients Among Individuals With Chronic Rhinitis

Exhaled decane and nonadecane discriminate allergic (AR + LAR) from non‐allergic (NAR + HC) subjects among individuals with chronic rhinitis. LAR patients display higher levels of exhaled nonadecane than NAR individuals at baseline. Subjects with FeNO≥ 25 ppb have higher levels of exhaled decane, nonanal, and styrene than individuals with FeNO < 25 ppb

Evaluation of a portable glucometer for blood glucose measurement in juvenile green sea turtles (Chelonia mydas)

Blood glucose is a key physiological indicator in sea turtles, but its measurement in field settings can be challenging. Portable point‐of‐care (POC) glucometers offer practicality, yet their agreement with reference laboratory methods has not been established for juvenile green sea turtles (Chelonia mydas) from the Southwestern Atlantic.
